• Energy management. PANDUIT manages its energy usage, and energy efficiency performance indicators are reviewed annually. Projects focusing on energy efficiency are implemented at all of our manufacturing sites and have reduced energy usage by 29% (in kWh) over the past six years. Our initiatives include reducing facility operating costs and reliance on fossil fuels through modern underfloor HVAC systems, daylight harvesting, indirect lighting, natural water filtration, recycling programs, and long-term flexibility of future facilities.
• Hazardous materials management. To help manage risks that chemicals may pose to human health and the environment, PANDUIT has prioritized minimization of hazardous material usage, release, and disposal, and continues to search for less hazardous alternatives.
• Recycling. Through our extensive recycling program, PANDUIT has reduced waste to landfill disposal below year 2000 levels and continues to investigate new recycling opportunities. PANDUIT recycles nearly all production waste and scrap, all office paper, and received packaging materials. Recycling bins are provided throughout each PANDUIT corporate office building for paper, cardboard, plastic, bottles, cans, and cartridges. Also, on a larger scale, each manufacturing unit reviews all inputs and outputs annually, and identifies potential new recycling opportunities, and recycled materials are used for the interior and exterior construction of PANDUIT facilities.
