Co-op Opportunities
Panduit’s Engineering Co-op Program provides students with hands-on training using leading edge, computer-based design and manufacturing technologies, and meaningful involvement in technical projects. The sessions provide the opportunity to integrate academic learning with practical work experience, thereby further preparing the student for his/her career.

Duration of Co-op:

Panduit requires co-ops to work at Panduit for a minimum of 3 work sessions (13 weeks each), alternating between work and school, but flexible enough to work with your academic schedule. Panduit has co-op opportunities available throughout the Fall, Spring and Summer.

Requirements:

Must be a sophomore or first semester junior working towards a BSME, BSEE, BSCS or related degree with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Co-op Training and Experience:

Mechanical Engineering Co-op

A Mechanical Engineering co-op at Panduit is primarily responsible for providing support to engineers in a variety of capacities depending on the group for which the co-op is working. A co-op will be expected to learn basic shop, CAD/CAM, molding and Engineering practices. They will establish procedures to perform basic engineering tasks on small projects or tasks of large projects under the direct supervision of an engineer. Depending on the engineering group, the student co-op may provide support through performing documentation functions, engineering calculations, data collections and/or analysis, prototyping, testing, training and assisting in design.

Electrical Engineering Co-op

Electrical Engineering co-ops typically spend their entire co-op experience in one work group. Within this work group, however, they are exposed to as many skill areas as possible. The following is a list of electrical engineering co-op work disciplines and the skill areas found within each work group: Product Development, Panduit Computer Integrated Manufacturing System, Controls and Facilities.

Software Engineering Co-op

Software Engineering co-ops are primarily responsible for providing support to engineers in a variety of capacities depending on the group for which the co-op is working.  A co-op will be expected to learn the basic software development process at PANDUIT, including the source code control system, the change management system, and the testing environments. Depending on the engineering group, the student co-op may provide support through performing documentation functions such as the creation of design documents, prototyping graphical user interfaces and software modules, implementation and unit testing of new software products, addressing software defects, developing test plans, and testing and certifying the final software.
