Wire Basket - At the pulse of sustainable development

Panduit is bringing Wire Basket to Europe

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, 14. November 2024 – Panduit, a leading global supplier of innovative solutions for network infrastructure and data centres, is expanding its versatile portfolio of cable management and raceway systems with the addition of Wire Basket and is now introducing this innovative product to the European market. Wire Basket complements the proven yellow or black FiberRunner™ raceway in data centres and provides an ideal solution for the distribution of all other cables and lines.

The FiberRunner channel system was developed years ago specifically for the protected routing of high-performance fibre optic cables in data centres and server rooms and has been continuously optimised. In addition to the mechanical protection of the sensitive fibre optic cables, the consistent bend radius control ensures optimum signal transmission and maximum network security.

The new Wire Basket Route is a standardised cable tray system available worldwide. Its design features high load capacity, large grid spacing and bend radius-compliant outlets. The principle of a well-known grid tray construction has been redefined and optimised specifically for the distribution of critical infrastructure. A choice of colours makes it possible to visually differentiate services by means of separate routes in accordance with standards and to design them flexibly without collisions.

The load-bearing components and outlets of Wire Basket and FiberRunner are perfectly matched and designed to work together. The innovative Wire Basket construction allows for a low overall weight with maximum strength and stability. Well-designed quick-mount brackets on various support systems and prefabricated earthing points greatly reduce installation time. Sharp edges in the cable tray are consistently avoided to increase the safety of the network and its users. The powder coating of the trays also eliminates the risk of 'zinc whiskers' - small metal crystals that form on galvanised components. These could be carried away by air currents and can cause significant interference in electronic circuits through micro-shorts.

With the introduction of Wire Basket, Panduit offers a uniform and conveniently coordinated cable management system for all types of data centres, IT or server rooms, floor distributors and throughout the building.
