The VeriSafe™ AVT Instruction Manual is being updated to provide important safety updates. An update was added to provide further clarity on regional requirements on use of overcurrent protection (OCPD) with VeriSafe™ AVTs. The Australian wiring code requires the use of OCPD when connecting equipment. It was determined that the VeriSafe would have to be installed with the use of OCPD to comply. The current user guide recommended not using OCPD and stated that it may cause unsafe operation. An analysis of the use of OCPD and the VeriSafe™ AVT concluded that it is safe to use them and will not adversely affect the operation of the VeriSafe. Further clarity was added in the Installation Considerations section of the instruction manual. The new recommendation in the user guide explains that OCPD is not required in the US and the design of the Verisafe ensures product safety, however if local codes require OCPD they can be used. Images depicting the correct use of OCPD and the incorrect use were also added in this section.
